The mere thought of your delicious food makes my taste buds go crazy.
As a resident of this fine city, no one needs to tell you that living in Arlington is like living in an awesome cafeteria, with choices of every different type of food at your fingertips and enough variety to keep your taste buds busy for weeks.
But what if you have special food needs? More specifically, what if you’re looking for places serving gluten-free choices?
No worries because there are several choices for great tasting gluten-free grub. Here are 6 delicious gluten-free dishes at Arlington restaurants.
Delectable Delights Bakery
Sure we’re always told to save our desserts for last, but cupcakes are our weakness. We were happy to find that Delectable Delights Bakery in south Arlington offers a different flavor of gluten-free cupcakes everyday including wedding cake, strawberry and chocolate. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates on the flavor of the day. Editor’s Note: This business is no longer open as of April 16, 2015.
R Bar & Grill
When we told you about R Bar & Grill in the Hilton Arlington earlier this year, we referred to it as an upscale bar. While we still haven’t seen much buzz about the restaurant around town, we love that they have several gluten-free dishes. Our fave is the Wild Boar Chili. It has tons of flavor and will leave you feeling full.
Mama’s Pizza
Mama’s Pizza is one of Arlington’s best pizza joints. For those on a gluten-free diet, most times pizza is a no-no. But Mama’s Pizza offers a gluten-free dough that will meet your dietary needs.
Mellow Mushroom
And speaking of pizza, who can deny the greatness of Mellow Mushroom right next to Arlington Music Hall? Like Mama’s Pizza, the downtown Arlington pizzeria offers a gluten-free dough so you can enjoy your “pie.” You can’t go wrong with any pizza choice but we love the Kosmic Karma.
The Melting Pot
Love fondue? The Melting Pot in the Arlington Highlands has a wide range of delicious gluten-free options for you to enjoy. Cheese and chocolate fondue in addition to several other gluten-free entrée choices makes this place a great spot to meet your needs.
World of Beer
With the weather heating up, you may want an ice cold beer to quench your thirst. Stop by World of Beer for a selection of gluten-free brews made by Omission and Estrella Damm. Note that the Estrella Damm Daura beer goes through a special brewing process, which removes the gluten.
