What’s the most important meal of the day?
We all know the answer is breakfast. In fact, many of us don’t mind having breakfast in the morning, afternoon or night.
If you’re like me and love breakfast, I’ve gotta share this with you. You don’t have to go to the same ole commercialized chain joints that rhyme with TRIHOP or Faffle Mouse.
There’s plenty of local joints with passionate owners serving breakfast in a way that’ll put a smile on your face.
If you’re looking for the best breakfast in Arlington TX, here’s a few suggestions.
Main Street Cafe
You’ll miss it if you’re not looking for it. Main Street Cafe has been an Arlington staple for over 50 years. It is located directly behind Leland’s Wallpaper on South Cooper near Pioneer Parkway (next to the Autozone). A great value is the breakfast special – 2 or 3 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 1 sausage patty, homefries and a choice of toast or biscuit and gravy ($5.75). 2023 S Cooper St Ste A
Pioneer Restaurant
Down the road from Six Flags Mall on W. Division, you’ll find Pioneer Restaurant. The sign outside says “Just Good Food.” That’s just about sums it up. Rise and Shine
If there is someone who doesn’t love Rise & Shine, we haven’t met them yet. Located across from Lisa’s Chicken on Pioneer Parkway, they are most known for their wonderful omelets. Justifiably so because your can order ’em in about 1000 different ways. But you’ll fall head over heels in love with the french toast. Trust us. Order them when you pay Rise & Shine a visit. 1815 W Pioneer Pkwy
Tom’s Burgers & Grill
Tom’s Burgers & Grill (aka Tom’s Diner) has been cooking up awesomeness in Arlington since ’06. Known for their burgers and chicken fried steak, one shouldn’t skip over their breakfast offerings (all-day). A popular choice is Tom’s Big Breakfast – two eggs, ham, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns and a choice of a waffle, french toast or pancakes ($7.69). 1530 N Cooper St.
Jay Jay Cafe
Jay Jay Cafe is a popular restaurant for breakfast. With three Arlington locations, you won’t have to drive far to bump in to one. A popular selection among regulars is the Classic Combo – 2 eggs, 3 bacon strips or 2 sausage patties, hashbrowns or homefries, and toast ($6.59). 518 N Fielder Rd; 1001 S Bowen Rd; 4401 Little Rd
Good Day Cafe
You’ll find Good Day Cafe in the same shopping plaza as Istanbul Grill and Delectable Delights Bakery. Good Day is a frequent stop for those spending time in south Arlington. The family owned cafe has your standard breakfast offerings and has just introduced crêpes to the menu. It’s also a good spot to crank out some work over breakfast because they have free wifi. 6204 S Cooper St, suite 132
Skillet and Grill
Good. Cheap. Friendly. Skillet & Grill has your standard breakfast fare (which is no knock). They know what good breakfast should be for a reasonable price. Bacon lovers will enjoy Skillet & Grill because sides of bacon are plentiful. Who can be mad at that? 2424 W Division St
Division Street Diner
Division Street Diner is a fantastically friendly restaurant. Owned by Leahsa Holcomb, DSD has a legion of regulars who staff chat with like they’re family. There’s plenty of seating in the restaurant and free wifi for those who need it. For newbies, we recommend the loaded hashbrowns. The hashbrowns are loaded with your choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Then grilled together and topped with melted cheese and 2 eggs ($5.75). 1800 W Division St
Old West Cafe
Since opening in August 2014, Old West Cafe has quickly become one of Arlington’s favorite breakfast destinations. It’s easy to understand why. The pancakes huge and fluffy. Omelet lovers will find 10 options to choose from made with either three or four eggs. Lemon blueberry pancakes and cinnamon crisp french toast are a few crowd favorites if you’re looking for what’s popular. 4650 Little Road
