Chop House Burgers: Mind-Blowing Burgers in Arlington

What’s better than a really good burger?

Not too many things that I can think of.

If you follow my lead and enjoy freakishly good burgers, it’s time to high-tail it to Chop House Burgers. You’ll find it near the corner of W. Park Row Ave. and Fielder Rd. directly across from Westlake Ace Hardware. You can come through the door anytime between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday – Saturday.

Chop House Burgers and its owner Chef Kenny Mills have gotten the attention of foodies both locally and nationally with unique twists on burgers. Let’s just say when you make it onto Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, it’s like the official stamp of approval and you’ve gotta be doing something right. Plus, if there’s a local burger battle or readers choice awards poll going on, they are always in the mix for best burgers.

At Chop House you’ll find over 10 preconfigured burgers to choose from which all are served with shredded lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and thinly sliced onions. And these aren’t wimpy burgers — you’ll be grabbing these babies with two hands.

The burger options are great because there’s something for everybody regardless of taste preferences. For example, you can grab the “Texican” burger made up of ground beef mixed with tomatoes, jalapenos, onions and cilantro.. It’s topped with pepper jack cheese and sliced avocado.

But if your planning to check this place out for the first time, you’re highly advised to start with the famed Chop House Burger. This is the one that most people rave about. It’s char-grilled ground beef and slow oven-roasted brisket mixed to form a patty (yep, you read that right), house made steak sauce, apple wood bacon and smoked cheddar cheese on a butter toasted bun. It will send your taste buds into a frenzy.

Oh, and I better mention that by default, burgers are cooked well-done. So if you prefer otherwise, just let the cashier know and they’ll make the change.

So what goes great with your burger? In terms of sides, you can’t go wrong with the sweet potato fries (crunchy, not soggy) or onion rings. I’m a sucker for sweet potato fries so that’s what I typically go with. For the sweet tooth in you, they also have a local baker providing sweets like slices of pie, cakes, cupcakes and more fresh daily. I typically will leave with a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting.

So now, you have a location to partake in some of the area’s best burgers. In fact, a second location recently opened in Mansfield for you folks in Southwest Arlington that can’t make the drive to the original joint. You can also get a free burger on your birthday with a photo id at either location. Bottom line: you don’t have a reason to miss out trying a Chop House burger.

Chop House isn’t scared to go beyond burgers. They also have chicken sandwiches, chili and a seafood gumbo containing Earl Campbell Hot Links.

Chef Kenny Mills further expanded his offerings by opening CH Steak & Seafood at 2230 W. Park Row in Pantego right down the road from the original burger location. Their “Backdoor Bootleg Fried Chicken” special has been getting tons of local attention.

Whatever you choose on Chop House’s menu, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. With burger joints becoming more and more popular in Arlington, only the strong (and tasty) will survive. So start Operation Burger and head down to Chop House Burgers for one of Arlington’s finest.
