Thinking about starting a fitness program now that the weather is warming up?

If so, running has probably entered your mind as a necessary part of a fitness regimen. Sure you can always run on your own, but you don’t have to.

There are plenty of running clubs in Arlington that will welcome you with open arms regardless of your running experience or fitness level. You don’t have to be a marathoner to join and you’ll enjoy plenty of perks ranging from group support that will help your reach your goals to new friendships.

 

If joining a running club in Arlington sounds interesting to you, here are a few options around town.

 

Arlington Striders

This group is probably the best known running group in town. Arlington Striders is a free friendly club that is dedicated to wellness, support, recreational and competitive fitness. Arlington Striders gets together for group runs & walks, cross training, socials, volunteering and much more. It strives to help members to improve fitness and health by supporting walking, hiking, jogging, running and other fitness activities.

 

The Runners Club

Join The Runners Club for free club runs Tuesday and Thursday nights. The group meets at 6:30pm in The Runner Shop parking lot. Free refreshments such as water, Gatorade and bananas are provided. Regardless of your level, The Runners Club welcomes runners that run a variety of paces and distances. The courses they run are generally anywhere from 2-8 miles. And you’ll meet some new friends because they group new members with runners that will stay with you along the course.

 

Arlington, TX Moms RUN This Town

Arlington, TX Moms RUN This Town is a local chapter of a national free running club for women organization. The group exists to support and motivate local women through their running journey and is open to all fitness levels. These women are committed to surrounding runners like-minded women who have a passion for staying healthy!

 

Ready 2 Run of Arlington and Mansfield

Ready 2 Run of Arlington and Mansfield is a training program created by Road Runners Clubs of America certified run coach, Allison Sunderland and is open to all runners. Unlike our other suggestions which are free, this running club costs $40/month. With your membership, you’ll receive:

  • Personalized training and weekly homework assignments
  • Weekly motivation and training tips
  • Access to community of runners that offers support and encouragement

Ready 2 Run of Arlington and Mansfield hosts group runs on Saturday mornings. Start time varies between 7:00 a.m. during hotter times of the year and 9:00 a.m. during milder climate. Sunday afternoon/evening run options vary between 4:00 p.m. in milder weather and 7:00 p.m. in hotter weather.
