Examples of new neighborhoods being developed in southwest Arlington include Twin Hills, Calender Crossing, Melia Ranch and Eden Village. These communities are close to Highway 287.
Fun Things to do in Southwest Arlington
When it comes to having fun, southwest Arlington does not disappoint. For example, getting in touch with nature is a breeze thanks to Southwest Nature Preserve. The 58-acre preserve has three ponds, a fishing pier (catch and release) outdoor seating and more. This is great place to walk or jog by yourself, with friends or man’s best friend on the jogging trails while enjoying nature.
Nearby Sublett Creek Linear Park is a great place for walking, jogging or bike riding.
Golfers will love southwest Arlington because award-winning Tierra Verde Golf Club is located near Highway 287 and Eden Rd in southwest Arlington. The golf club opened in 1998 and is operated by the City of Arlington. As mentioned above, several new homes and neighborhoods can be found near Tierra Verde Golf Club.
In addition to golf, Tierra Verde is home to Ventana Grille. Party on the Patio is an event Ventana Grille hosts throughout the year. Party on the Patio features live music by cover bands, food and fun.
The 86-acre Martin Luther King Sports Complex is located next to Tierra Verde Golf Club. It features baseball fields, a nature walk and playground.
Stovall Park and Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center are also popular destinations on Sublett Road near Calender Rd. Stovall Park typically hosts popular food truck events a few times throughout the year.
Speaking of fun, plenty of options for shopping, dining and entertainment are only 10 minutes away. You can find all of that and more at Arlington Highlands and The Parks Mall at Arlington.
Arlington’s Entertainment District may be on your list of places to visit. Whether it’s AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park in Arlington, Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor, southwest Arlington is not too far away. Expect a drive to the Entertainment District to take 15 minutes.

It was recently announced that a Kroger grocery store will be built across from the Albertsons in SW Plaza Shopping Center in 2016. This is located near Highway 287 and Sublett Rd. The scheduled opening date is Spring 2018.
