Raise your hand if you believe Texas is a great state to live.
I can see your hands raised high! Of course, I believe that as well. I especially love living in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. And according to the United States Census Bureau’s latest population estimates , so do others. 😉
The Dallas-Fort Worth area was the second fastest growing metropolitan region in the country between July 2014-July 2015. Dallas-Fort Worth’s population has increased by 144,704 people during that time span.
Houston topped this list at 159,083 during the same time span. Out of the top 20 areas, four are in Texas. See the graphic below.
What does this mean for you?
For home sellers, more people are in the market looking for a home. If you’re listing a well-priced home that is attractive with great upkeep, it is possible to receive several offers and sell quickly. Consider getting a home value report to understand what your property is prior to putting it on the market.
For home buyers, it’s important to ensure you’re prequalified for a mortgage loan. Additionally, when you find a home you like, it’s important to submit your best offer quickly. With so many other buyers in the market, it’s likely a home will receive multiple offers. This gives the seller the opportunity to pick and choose the best offer for them.
It’s not surprising to see DFW ranked high on the list. I receive a lot of calls from people living in other cities/states considering moving to the metroplex.
