Dino’s Subs
An Arlington staple for over 30 years, Dino’s Subs are a must have if you’re hankering for a good sammy. This place’s legacy is unmatched and with the recent passing of owner Larry Dino, stop by to understand why he and this place are so beloved. The menu has lots of sandwich options so if you’ve never been, take a look before you go. We love #11 with all of our heart. 2221 S Collins St.
The Tin Cup
When he isn’t acting in Hollywood blockbuster movies, Damon Carney butters his bread at The Tin Cup in downtown Arlington. He and his wife Brandi have produced sandwiches that remind them of their childhood for over 10 years. We beg you to try the Caramel Gang sandwich. It comes with your choice of ham or turkey, mozzarella cheese and is topped with caramel apples and mayo on your choice of bread (we recommend a croissant). 1025 West Abram St.
Fork in the Road
We wrote about Fork in the Road in early January. Since then, we’ve heard person after person rave about Josh Hopkins’ joint. Darn near everything that comes out of the kitchen is good including the sandwiches. Give the Reuben a shot. It’s griddled corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, & jalapeño 1000 island on marbled rye bread. Can you say delish? 1821 S. Fielder Rd.
Jo-Ed’s Bomber
In 1959 Joanne and Ed moved from New Jersey to Texas and decided to open a sandwich shop with the style of food they were used to, they named it after themselves. The term “bomber” is an eastern variation of what we refer to as what we a submarine (or sub sandwich). From 1960 to 1972, Jo-Eds was located at Park Row and Cooper St. The restaurant then moved to Hwy 303 (now known as Pioneer Parkway). The food was loved so much by regulars, when they sold the restaurant, the new owner couldn’t think of changing anything on the menu. A popular choice is the Regular Bomber which includes ham, turkey, roast beef, salami, and pastrami and is dressed with a traditional flavored oil, which is Jo-Ed’s trademark. 1924 W.
