Holy smoke rings, Batman!

BBQ. Barbecue. Barbeque.

No matter how you spell it, there’s no denying the special place it holds in our hearts.

The magic that slow-burning wood, meat and a pitmaster’s patience can produce is nothing short of amazing.

With the weather warming up, there’s no doubt that barbecue is going to be top of mind for many of us. And when you don’t have the desire (or know-how) to man your own pit, you may look for restaurants to do the work for you.

When you want the best BBQ in Arlington TX, here are six popular places you should check out.

Jambo’s Barbeque Shack

Jambo's Barbeque Shack - Jambo Texan

Jambo’s Barbeque Shack opened its west Arlington location in July 2015. And it’s been a hit from day one. Famous BBQ pit maker and recent BBQ Pitmasters (tv show) winner Jamie Geer created the joint in Rendon in 2013. In 2014, Paul and Ashton Lovato purchased the restaurant and have been running it ever since. Using pecan wood,  Jambo’s is serving brisket (sliced or chopped), pulled pork, bologna, ribs and sausage. Pictured is their renowned Jambo Texan, a sandwich containing every meat on the menu. Hours are 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday. 2502 Little Road.

Eddie Deen Crossroads Barbecue

Originally opening in 2011, it soon after closed and reopened in 2013. One visit and you’ll be happy they got back in business. The boneless chicken breast is brined for 24 hours before smoking making it ridiculously moist. The ribs along with their honey-glazed finish make ’em finger-licking good. Their approach to flavorful brisket is on the simple as it is rubbed with kosher salt and peppercorns prior to smoking. Using hickory as its wood of choice, there’s plenty great reasons to stop in and try for yourself. Hours are 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. 1004 N Collins
