Here’s How to Create Your Own Arlington TX News Hub
If you’re like Keela and me, you are busy. As much as you want to stay informed on Arlington TX news, you don’t have time looking at numerous websites, social media profiles, and television news programs. This can be time-consuming and a downright hassle.
As you’ll see below, there’s an easier way to remain an informed resident when it comes to Arlington TX news.
I’ve found a easy way to create my own Arlington news hub. This gives me the ability to go to one place and find all the latest news from a number of sources. It works well for me so I want to share this process with you. Here are the step-by-step directions.
Visit Feedly.com. Feedly is a free service that allows you to aggregate information from across the web. It gives you several simple ways to create an Feedly account.
Once you’ve created an account and are signed in, you will see the following screen:
When you see this screen, you can paste webpage links to Feedly. This will then allow you to receive that website’s updates directly in Feedly. Below is an example using the City of Arlington’s news section.
Paste the website’s link in the search field and press Enter.
You will be redirected to a screen with that website’s recent articles. See the below screenshot for an example. Note: You can change viewing options using the gear icon at the top of the screen.
To finalize adding a website’s feed to Feedly, click the green +feedly button at the top of the page. It will open a left column allowing you to simply add the feed. You can also create a collection to group several similar websites (this is optional). In the screenshot below, I began the process of creating a collection. I named it “Arlington TX News.”
Once you are done, click the green Add button at the bottom the left column to complete the process.
Once complete, you can add other websites repeating this process. To make it simple, below are a few Arlington TX news urls you can use copy and paste into Feedly:
- City of Arlington’s news section: http://www.arlington-tx.gov/news/
- Arlington Voice recent articles: http://www.arlingtonvoice.com/
- Arlington Citizen-Journal recent articles: http://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/community/arlington-citizen-journal/
- CBS 11’s website (with Arlington-specific news): http://dfw.cbslocal.com/tag/arlington-2/
Some feeds will have several options (i.e. top news, sports, editorial, etc) when you paste the url into Feedly. Just look for the option that displays Arlington-specific articles.
After adding the urls I shared above, my final Arlington TX news hub in Feedly looks like the screenshot below (click the screenshot to enlarge):
Another great thing about Feedly is it has apps for iOS and Android devices. Simply download the app from the app store and have Arlington TX news at your fingertips at all times. 🙂
You can also bookmark, favorite and share articles directly in Feedly.
I sure hope this is useful for you. Do you have additional questions about Arlington TX news outlets? Let us know in the comment section below.
