Tired of Being Outbid by Other Buyers on Homes? Here’s What I Suggest To My Clients!

The following scenario happens to many of my clients who are searching for a home:

  1. We look at 4-5 homes.
  2. We make an offer on one of the homes.
  3. We are informed that there are multiple offers.
  4. After a day or so the seller’s agent informs us that the seller went with another offer.

The scenario above happens A LOT in this crazy north Texas market!

One thing I am informing my buyers to do is consider buying a home in their desired location that may need some TLC. You know…a fixer-upper. I’m talking ugly wallpaper, linoleum floors, original carpet and overcrowded with furniture and stuff. I’ve seen it all.

These are the hidden gems that most buyers in this hot market wouldn’t want to step foot in. They can’t see past the dated look or furnishings.

Believe it or not, there are construction companies that will allow you to finance the rehab work done on these homes. As your REALTOR®, I can walk you through this process and help you get into your dream home without the need to take out another loan to get the work done. This is an excellent option for those who aren’t quite comfortable with doing the work themselves and do not want to commit to the long process of performing these updates.
